How do I know that the quilt is real camel wool?

Authenticity guarantees a feel, unique properties and a mild scent. Real camel wool is light, breathable and has a unique ability to naturally regulate temperature (you won't sweat). If you notice a mild, natural smell of wool, this is additional evidence that the filling has not been chemically treated. The smell is temporary and usually disappears over time. The smell is also a confirmation of authenticity, as polyester has no smell.

How long does delivery take and is there a charge?

Shipping is FREE throughout Croatia. We will deliver your order as soon as possible. Generally, you can expect delivery within 3 business days of order confirmation.

Why are similar quilts sometimes cheaper online?

Cheap price means synthetic filling. Many sellers use polyester or cheap dense blends that retain heat but are not breathable. They advertise such products as "camel" products, even though they are not. Authentic camel wool has a unique structure that regulates temperature (prevents sweating), and this cannot be imitated by synthetics. Our price reflects pure, natural quality. If you look at the better compositions, you will see that we are among the most affordable options, as similar duvets cost up to €500.

I have allergies. Is camel wool hypoallergenic?

Yes, camel wool is extremely hypoallergenic. Unlike sheep wool or feathers, which often cause reactions, camel wool naturally contains significantly less lanolin. Due to its breathability and the dry environment it creates, it is an ideal hostile environment for dust mites and mold.

How do I properly maintain a camel wool duvet? Can I wash it at home?

No, washing the duvet in a washing machine at home is strictly prohibited. Camel wool is naturally resistant to dirt and odors and is primarily maintained by airing it . Shake it regularly and air it in fresh air. Dry cleaning is recommended only exceptionally, in case of great necessity , in order to preserve the natural structure and properties of the filling.

A camel wool quilt and why that one?

Camel wool products

Camel wool products are considered luxury because it is one of the most exclusive materials in the world, and rightfully so.

Camel wool

Camel wool, also known as "camel hair", is a luxurious type of natural fiber obtained from the pelt of Bactrian, double-humped camels. Wool is soft, warm, and lightweight, making it a popular material for clothing and textiles.

Camel hair is known for its durability and resistance to abrasion , making it a popular choice for everyday items.

Characteristics of camel wool duvets

Camel wool has excellent insulating properties that make it a great choice for blankets and quilts. It retains heat well in winter, but due to its breathability, it does not cause sweating, unlike artificial materials such as polyester. In addition, its natural, water-repellent (hydrophobic) properties make it very resistant to sweat, which is suitable for people who have a problem with night sweats.

Camel hair is also a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice. Camels can survive in arid and semi-arid areas where other livestock would not be able to survive. This means that camel wool production has a lower environmental impact than many other types of wool production.

Unlike other animals that must be sheared to obtain their wool, Bactrian camels naturally shed their hair in late spring or early summer. This means that camel hair is a more sustainable source and there are fewer concerns about animal abuse during the harvesting process, as is the case with other types of wood. Camels do not have to be restrained, facing the possibility of injury, to have their wool collected; farmers can simply wait for all the hair to fall off the camel.

Camel wool is considered hypoallergenic . Most allergies to wool, most often sheep wool, are reactions to lanolin, a fatty substance secreted by animals that wear wool. However, camels show a special characteristic in that they produce significantly less lanolin, which makes camel wool less allergenic.

Natural duvets vs polyester

Natural duvets, especially those made from exclusive types of wool such as camel wool, are considered a much healthier and superior choice than synthetic materials such as polyester. You can read more about why this is the case in our knowledge corner . So think carefully before buying your next duvet!
